OMBRE CHECK SHORTS

These ombre check shorts are the same cut as the PAJAMA SHORTS, which are cutoff versions of our relaxed PAJAMA PANTS. We adjusted the monotonous pattern and waist fit that are characteristic of traditional overpants, resulting in a more comfortable wear. The waist volume remains the same, but with two pleats and an elastic waistband for improved fit.

The fabric used is an original ombre check woven with acetate, cotton, and rayon. By taking advantage of the different dye absorption rates of the materials, the acetate and cotton/rayon parts absorb dye differently, causing the ombre check pattern to emerge after dyeing.

This season, we adopted the traditional Japanese dyeing technique of "Chusen." Craftsmen tie each product with string, then pour dye from above and draw it up from below, creating a unique gradation and deep color. Furthermore, by using a dye that does not color the acetate parts, we achieved a unique expression that combines ombre check and uneven dyeing.

Regarding the gray color

To create the gray color, red dyes are mixed in. Due to the characteristics of uneven dyeing using the Chusen technique, you may occasionally see a faint reddish tint, but please enjoy this as a feature of the technique.
