This piece is a reconstruction of the M-35 denim jacket, which was actually used by the US military in the 1930s and 1940s.
While retaining the large patch pockets and functional details seen in workwear of that era, the pullover style has been reinterpreted into a front-opening fly-front design.
It combines modern usability with ease of wear and removal.
The material used is a dry-textured dump fabric, woven from high-density, strong-twisted yarn.
For the finishing, the traditional Omi-zarashi technique from Shiga's Omi region is used. By bleaching with lye and then sun-drying, natural wrinkles and a soft texture are brought out.
The crisp feel unique to strong-twisted yarn and its dry, non-clinging texture are also characteristic.
For dyeing, a chusen technique, handcrafted by artisans, is employed. In this method, the product is rolled up and tied with string, dye is poured from above, and then absorbed from below, resulting in a unique expression with a different texture for each individual piece.
