This short-collared shirt with a gas flap is inspired by military jackets from the 1940s.
The collar edges, cuff edges, placket, and pocket openings are all designed with continuous, seamless construction, deliberately eliminating stitching to create a minimalist and lightweight impression.
Conversely, the facing on the underside of the placket features reinforcing stitches, and the chest pocket is adorned with topstitched reinforcing tape. These precise details are meticulously designed to create beautiful puckering after product dyeing.
The material used is a fine-count cupro ripstop, woven in a Kiryu textile mill.
Cupro is a regenerated fiber made from cotton linter, the downy fibers surrounding cotton seeds. It boasts excellent moisture absorption and breathability, and is a rare fabric that can only be woven in Japan.
Through washing, its luster is subtly subdued, and natural wrinkles and a soft drape emerge, resulting in a relaxed feel. While possessing a light, sheer quality, it also has the rugged military aesthetic characteristic of ripstop, making it a captivating piece that harmonizes opposing elements.
Sax Blue: Reactive Dye
Khaki: Pomegranate
Sumikuro: Binchotan Charcoal
