Based on a cagoule parka from an outdoor brand in the 1990s, this piece has been adjusted in terms of volume, specifications, and design. Slash pockets are placed on the sides for use as hand warmers, and a large pocket at the waist ensures ample storage. The silhouette and length can be adjusted by tightening the drawcord at the hem.
The material used is a high-density typewriter fabric woven with viscose rayon for the warp and nylon for the weft. The unique luster and softness of viscose rayon are combined with the light and smooth feel of nylon, and a washer finish gives the fabric a rich texture.
For the color, each item is hand-dyed by artisans using "Bengala dye," which uses iron oxide pigment from the soil, a byproduct of copper mining in Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture, creating a mottled color. The airy atmosphere created by the relaxed volume and slightly longer length, combined with the gentle colors of Bengala dye, results in a unique item rarely seen in outdoor brands.
- Care for Bengala-dyed products
- To enjoy the color for longer, hand washing with a neutral detergent is recommended.
- Wash separately as color may transfer to other items.
- Do not use fluorescent brighteners or bleach.
- After washing, dry in the shade.
- Color may fade when exposed to citrus juice. Rinse immediately if it comes into contact.
- Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or lighting may cause discoloration. Do not leave in direct sunlight; store in a dark place.
- As the dye is extracted from minerals in the soil, the resulting dye is similar to minerals and may react to metal detectors.
- Since the dye is similar to pigment, color transfer may occur to innerwear or bags due to friction during wear.
